A fantastic opportunity to join a well-established financial services provider in a key leadership role overseeing the compliance function. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering the compliance strategy and maintaining strong relationships with regulatory stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Acting as Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Compliance Officer for the business, and as Nominated Officer in the absence of the MLRO.
- Leading the development, implementation and maintenance of the compliance strategy in line with both Group and local regulatory expectations.
- Managing regulatory relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for regulators and responding to requests and reporting requirements.
- Preparing and maintaining gap analyses of policies against home and host jurisdiction requirements, and ensuring implementation of changes where necessary.
- Monitoring legal, regulatory and industry developments and overseeing the introduction of related policy and procedural changes.
- Developing and maintaining the Compliance Monitoring Plan and Regulatory Universe, conducting routine compliance testing, and reporting findings.
- Supporting the preparation of internal and external risk assessments and regulatory submissions, including GFSC returns and financial crime reporting.
- Overseeing training programmes to maintain firm-wide awareness of regulatory obligations, ensuring timely completion of all compliance training.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of Guernsey regulatory frameworks, particularly in relation to financial crime risks, fiduciary rules, and data privacy regulations. They will have at least 5 years' compliance experience in a financial services setting, with relevant qualifications and demonstrable leadership experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a professional and assertive manner, and sound IT literacy are essential. Experience in group reporting, policy gap analysis, and managing cross-border regulatory compliance would be advantageous.
