Our client is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic People Administrator to support their busy People team! This full-time role (39 hours per week) is very fast-paced and varied, making it ideal for someone with solid administration experience who enjoys being at the centre of people processes. It's a structured position with no flexibility for remote working, reduced hours or early finishes- perfectly suited to someone who thrives on organisation, accuracy, and building strong working relationships across the business.
Location
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Provide a wide range of administrative support across all aspects of people management, covering both office functions and HR matters for stores across the Channel Islands.
- Managing the jobs inbox, reviewing applications, and coordinating recruitment processes.
- Advertising vacancies, preparing interview paperwork, shortlisting CVs, conducting telephone interviews, and providing feedback to candidates.
- Supporting onboarding, inductions, probation reviews, and exit interviews.
- Handling employee lifecycle administration, including right-to-work checks, references, and permit applications.
- Assisting with employee relations matters and supporting managers with HR queries.
- Ensuring all processes comply with employment legislation and internal policies.
- Maintaining accurate personnel records, policies, procedures, and templates.
- Drafting correspondence, taking minutes, and supporting investigations as required.
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with managers, colleagues, and external providers.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will bring solid administration experience as a foundation for this role. While previous HR exposure would be beneficial, proven experience in managing high-volume administration in a busy environment is the key requirement. They will be confident communicators with excellent interpersonal skills, comfortable handling sensitive information, and proficient in Microsoft Office. Strong organisational ability, attention to detail, and a methodical approach are essential, alongside the capacity to prioritise and work effectively under pressure. A sound understanding of local employment legislation and a CIPD Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) would also be an advantage.
