This is a significant opportunity for a senior compliance leader with extensive knowledge of the Guernsey regulatory environment. Combining the CO, MLCO and MLRO functions, you'll lead compliance strategy, regulatory engagement and financial crime oversight while developing the team and strengthening compliance awareness across the wider business.

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Act as Compliance Officer, Money Laundering Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer for the Guernsey licensees.
  • Act as a principal regulatory contact with the GFSC and liaise with the FIU and other authorities on financial crime matters.
  • Lead and develop the Guernsey Compliance function across Fund Services and Trust Company Business.
  • Maintain and continuously enhance the compliance, AML/CFT/CPF and associated policy frameworks.
  • Oversee the delivery of the risk-based Compliance Monitoring Programme and client file review framework.
  • Own the AML/CFT/CPF business risk assessment and support ongoing Board review.
  • Receive and assess internal financial crime reports and make external disclosures where appropriate.
  • Maintain appropriate SAR, law enforcement and financial crime records.
  • Provide compliance advice and support to Boards, senior management and the wider business.
  • Prepare compliance plans, reporting and management information for Boards and committees.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and ensure changes are effectively implemented.
  • Lead compliance training and awareness across the business.
  • Manage, mentor and develop the Compliance team, setting clear objectives and supporting professional development.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a senior compliance professional with ideally around 10 years' experience within a Fund Services or Trust Company Business environment, gained in risk and/or compliance roles. You'll have extensive knowledge of Guernsey regulatory requirements and AML/CFT/CPF frameworks, together with demonstrable experience acting as, or being approved to act as, CO, MLCO and MLRO within a regulated business. Previous direct engagement with the GFSC and other regulatory authorities is important, alongside a strong understanding of risk-based compliance monitoring and financial crime controls. You'll be an accomplished people leader with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing at Board and senior management level while mentoring and developing a Compliance team. A relevant professional qualification such as ICA or ACAMS would be advantageous.
