An outstanding opportunity for an experienced financial crime professional to take on a key leadership role within a regulated business. As Money Laundering Reporting Officer, you'll provide strategic oversight of the firm's anti-financial crime framework, working closely with senior stakeholders to strengthen governance, manage financial crime risk and ensure regulatory compliance. Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Undertake the prescribed role of Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for the business.
  • Lead the development and oversight of the firm's financial crime framework and risk-based approach.
  • Provide expert advice on AML, sanctions, fraud, anti-bribery and financial crime matters.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and ensure compliance frameworks remain effective and up to date.
  • Liaise with regulators, law enforcement agencies and other external authorities where required.
  • Prepare and present financial crime reports, risk assessments and management information to senior leadership and Boards.
  • Oversee suspicious activity reporting and financial crime investigations.
  • Develop and deliver financial crime training and awareness programmes across the business.
  • Lead and develop the financial crime team, supporting performance, engagement and professional development.
  • Support business projects and change initiatives by providing financial crime and regulatory guidance.
  • Promote a positive compliance culture and continuous improvement across the organisation. 

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a senior compliance professional with previous or current regulatory approval as an MLRO and significant experience within a second line financial crime role in a regulated financial services environment. You'll hold a recognised qualification in Compliance or Financial Crime and possess strong technical knowledge of AML, sanctions, fraud, anti-bribery and regulatory requirements, together with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Previous people management experience is essential, with the ability to lead, develop and motivate a high-performing team while influencing senior stakeholders and driving a strong culture of financial crime compliance across the organisation. Commercial awareness, sound judgement and experience producing board-level reporting and management information will be key to success in this role.
