Trainee Compliance Specialist

This junior opportunity offers an introduction to the regulatory side of financial services, with plenty of scope to learn and develop. You'll assist with compliance documentation, monitoring and administrative processes while gradually building your understanding of industry requirements. Previous experience isn't essential, making this suitable for a motivated school leaver or someone with some general office or compliance experience.

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Compliance team.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance records, manuals, policies and procedures.
  • Support compliance monitoring activities and basic control checks under supervision.
  • Help maintain accurate documentation relating to AML/CFT and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with tracking compliance findings, outstanding actions and deadlines.
  • Support the recording and administration of complaints, breaches, errors and omissions.
  • Assist with client due diligence documentation and straightforward regulatory queries.
  • Help prepare information for compliance reporting and internal reviews.
  • Support the coordination of staff training and compliance awareness activities.
  • Develop an understanding of relevant regulations, internal procedures and compliance processes.
  • Undertake general administrative tasks and wider team support as required.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and motivated individual looking to begin or develop a career within Compliance, ideally educated to A-Level standard or equivalent, although relevant administrative experience will also be considered. Previous financial services or compliance experience is not essential, making this an excellent opportunity for a school leaver or junior administrator with an interest in regulatory processes and procedures. You'll have strong attention to detail, good organisational and communication skills and a methodical approach to following instructions and maintaining accurate records. Good Microsoft Office skills and a willingness to learn are important, alongside a positive attitude and the ability to work effectively within a team. An interest in working towards a relevant professional qualification, such as ICA, would be advantageous.
