IT Application Engineer

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

• Installing, maintaining, and retiring services across both the Managed IT and Mimecast portfolios.
• Providing technical support for Mimecast and Managed IT customer incidents and queries.
• Acting as a subject matter expert and escalation point for client projects and in-life service delivery.
• Leading on Mimecast and Managed IT-related projects, including the creation and maintenance of technical documentation.
• Mentoring staff and assisting with technical issues.
• Escalating service tickets appropriately and ensuring customer updates are timely and clear.
• Supporting service implementation plans and participating in the on-call retainer system where required.
• Contributing to the development of internal processes and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
• Assisting with administrative tasks such as meeting documentation, risk identification, and knowledge handovers.

The ideal candidate will have significant strong experience in a similar role and experience in supporting Microsoft 365, Office 365, Windows 10/11, Intune/SCCM, EMS, SharePoint and Teams. They will demonstrate expertise with email security gateway tools and Mimecast products; Mimecast Warrior or Gladiator qualifications are desirable. Proficiency with Microsoft security tools including Azure ATP, DLP, AIP and Windows Defender ATP is required, alongside familiarity with Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), Exchange, Group Policy, and Windows Server OS. Candidates should also have strong networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, IP subnetting) and experience with wired and wireless networking. Certifications such as MS-900, AZ-900, MS-700, AZ-104, AZ-500, MS102 and MD102 would be advantageous, as would experience supporting Citrix technologies.
