This is a broad opportunity for an experienced financial services professional to manage a portfolio of captive and commercial insurance clients. You'll combine client relationship management with accounting, insurance administration and corporate governance, working closely with Boards and a wide range of professional stakeholders. It's ideal for someone who enjoys variety and taking real ownership of their client portfolio.
Location
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Manage a portfolio of captive and commercial (re)insurance companies and segregated accounts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, Directors and professional service providers.
- Prepare management accounts, statutory financial statements, budgets and cashflow reporting.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations and post relevant banking, investment and bordereaux transactions.
- Manage day-to-day client cash requirements and liaise with banks and investment managers.
- Support insurance policy administration, claims, renewals and new business.
- Account for premiums and support reserving and solvency requirements.
- Liaise with insurance and reinsurance brokers.
- Undertake company secretarial duties, including minutes, action points and statutory filings.
- Coordinate Board and AGM meetings and prepare Board packs.
- Attend Board meetings and lead relevant discussions where required.
- Maintain an understanding of each client's business and industry and escalate significant matters appropriately.
- Support the training and development of colleagues where required.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' relevant experience, ideally within insurance, captive management or a related financial services environment, and will be qualified or part-qualified, preferably ACCA or CAT. You'll have strong accounting and numerical skills together with the confidence to manage a varied client portfolio and communicate credibly with Boards, senior stakeholders and complex client groups. Excellent organisation, attention to detail and communication skills are essential, alongside sound judgement and the ability to build trusted client relationships. You'll be proactive and commercially aware, with the confidence to identify issues requiring escalation and take ownership of client requirements across accounting, insurance and corporate governance matters.
