This is a varied senior opportunity for a confident compliance professional with strong technical and leadership skills. You'll help shape the organisation's response to regulatory change while providing practical advice, challenging controls and developing the wider Compliance team. The role offers significant exposure to senior decision-makers and governance forums.

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide senior-level regulatory compliance advice and guidance across the business.
  • Lead and develop the Compliance team, including workload allocation, coaching and performance management.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business.
  • Coordinate the implementation of regulatory change requirements.
  • Manage regulatory requests, returns, thematic reviews and information gathering exercises.
  • Liaise with regulators, external agencies and advisers where required.
  • Provide technical guidance on conduct risk, data protection, FATCA, CRS and cross-border regulatory matters.
  • Review client-facing and commercial documentation from a regulatory perspective.
  • Prepare and present compliance reporting and management information to senior management, ExCo and Boards.
  • Assess regulatory risks and challenge the effectiveness of first-line controls.
  • Support compliance monitoring, remediation and regulatory projects.
  • Deputise for the Head of Compliance where required.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have extensive regulatory Compliance experience within financial services, together with strong knowledge of GFSC requirements and the ability to interpret complex regulatory developments and translate them into practical business guidance. You'll have experience managing regulatory requests, returns and regulator engagement, alongside producing high-quality reporting for senior management and Board-level audiences. Previous people management, coaching or mentoring experience is important, as you'll provide leadership and direction to the Compliance team. Strong judgement, communication and influencing skills are essential, together with the ability to challenge constructively and balance regulatory requirements with commercial considerations. You'll ideally hold, or be working towards, a relevant qualification such as the ICA Diploma or equivalent.
