Working closely with the MLRO, you'll support the ongoing development of the financial crime framework while providing expert guidance across a range of AML and regulatory matters. Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the MLRO in the oversight of the financial crime framework and second-line compliance activities.
  • Assist with financial crime monitoring, assurance reviews and remediation programmes.
  • Provide technical guidance on AML, CFT, CPF, sanctions and financial crime requirements.
  • Support policy development, control enhancements and regulatory change initiatives.
  • Review customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence and client risk assessments.
  • Assist with suspicious activity reporting processes and financial crime investigations where required.
  • Prepare management information, board reports and regulatory submissions.
  • Participate in financial crime, regulatory and system implementation projects.
  • Deliver or support financial crime training and awareness initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with Compliance, Risk, Operations and Group colleagues to strengthen governance and financial crime controls.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be an experienced compliance professional with strong second-line financial crime, AML or compliance experience gained within financial services, ideally within insurance, fiduciary, investment or wealth management. You'll have a good technical understanding of Guernsey AML/CFT/CPF requirements, the GFSC Handbook and wider financial crime regulations, together with experience of customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence and financial crime risk assessment. A professional qualification in Compliance, AML or Financial Crime, or a willingness to work towards one, would be advantageous. Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently, contribute to projects and support the continued development of an effective financial crime framework. This role would also suit candidates who may not yet be operating at senior level but are looking to take the next step in their compliance career.
