This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing commercial insurance team in a senior capacity. The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting cases within established risk appetites and contributing to the growth and retention of a successful underwriting portfolio.

Responsibilities
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Underwriting and assessing commercial cases within agreed processes and authority levels.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with brokers, discussing and negotiating new and existing business opportunities.
- Delivering high-quality, timely underwriting decisions in line with business objectives and risk appetite.
- Acting as a key contact within the team, referring complex cases as necessary and mentoring junior colleagues.
- Supporting the management and development of an underwriting/client portfolio.
- Participating in strategic and operational projects to improve team performance and client outcomes.
- Assisting with onboarding and training of new staff members as required.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have significant underwriting or industry experience and a strong background in dealing with brokers across a range of commercial insurance products. They will be self-motivated and organised, with a confident approach to workload ownership and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Candidates should be capable of working under pressure, managing priorities and ideally hold or be working towards relevant CII qualifications.
