Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting external audit engagements as a Data Assurance specialist.
  • Designing and developing data analytics procedures to support audit testing.
  • Performing client walkthroughs and understanding data environments and systems.
  • Using data analysis techniques to assess controls and risk frameworks.
  • Supporting Digital Audit and Controls Assurance engagements.
  • Developing and documenting audit and assurance testing procedures.
  • Utilising tools such as SQL, Python, Alteryx, Power BI and Power Platform where appropriate.
  • Supporting the adoption of data analytics, automation and AI technologies.
  • Managing engagement timelines and supporting project delivery.
  • Building relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Coaching and developing junior team members.
  • Contributing to innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across the practice.

Skills / Qualifications

he ideal candidate will hold a degree in Accounting, Information Technology, Data Science, Business Studies or a related discipline and possess experience within data assurance, audit, analytics, data engineering or risk assurance, ideally gained within a Big 4 or professional services environment. They will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities and experience working with large data sets, reporting tools or assurance methodologies. Exposure to technologies such as SQL, Python, Power BI, Alteryx or similar platforms would be highly advantageous. Professional qualifications or certifications relating to data, audit, project management or technology risk would be welcomed, although ongoing study and development will be fully supported.
