Part-Time Shop Assistant

• Provide friendly and helpful service to customers and assist with product choices.
• Develop product knowledge to provide appropriate customer guidance.
• Replenish stock and maintain an attractive, tidy and safe shop environment.
• Operate the till and process different payment methods, refunds and discounts.
• Support general day-to-day retail activities.
• When providing supervisor cover, manage till floats, deliveries and promotional shelf labels.
• Cash up, complete banking and securely close the shop when required.
• Provide mid-week morning holiday cover for approximately seven weeks per year and additional sickness/emergency cover where possible.

The ideal candidate will be reliable, responsible and confident dealing with customers, with a friendly and approachable manner and clear communication skills. You'll enjoy delivering excellent service and be comfortable working both as part of a team and independently when required. Previous retail experience would be advantageous but isn't essential, while an interest in health, nutrition or wellbeing would also be beneficial. You'll need to be available to work Saturdays from 9.30am to 5pm and have sufficient flexibility to provide additional mid-week holiday and absence cover when required. Applicants must already have an appropriate right to live and work in Guernsey.
