This role offers the chance to develop beyond traditional tax compliance and take on greater responsibility within a collaborative team. You'll manage client reporting obligations, review work, support technical queries and contribute to training and process improvements. It's ideally suited to someone looking to progress their career within fiduciary tax.
Location
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Manage tax compliance and reporting for a portfolio of trust and company clients.
- Prepare and review Income Tax, Corporation Tax, Capital Gains Tax, ATED, Inheritance Tax, VAT and other relevant reporting.
- Review trust and company accounts to identify potential tax risks.
- Monitor statutory deadlines and ensure filing obligations are completed accurately and on time.
- Review work completed by trainee and junior tax colleagues and provide technical guidance.
- Assist with workflow management and allocation of work across the tax team.
- Respond to tax queries from colleagues across the wider business.
- Liaise with clients, beneficiaries, settlors and professional advisers.
- Support complex tax matters under the guidance of senior colleagues.
- Assist with tax training, process improvements, budgeting and billing.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years' relevant tax experience and strong technical knowledge of UK taxation, ideally with experience working with trusts, companies or other fiduciary structures. An ATT, STEP, ACCA or equivalent qualification is preferred, with CTA studies or a willingness to pursue further professional qualifications advantageous. You'll have the confidence to review work and identify technical issues, alongside excellent communication, stakeholder management and organisational skills. The ability to coach junior colleagues, manage competing priorities and consistently meet compliance deadlines will also be important.
