Our client is seeking a commercially focused Management Accountant to join their finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract! This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of key financial processes while providing meaningful insight to support operational and strategic decision-making.
Location
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing and presenting monthly management accounts with clear commentary on trends, risks and opportunities.
- Partnering with operational teams to translate financial results into actionable recommendations.
- Leading budgeting and forecasting processes for designated areas.
- Investigating variances, anomalies and performance trends.
- Producing high-quality reporting and ad hoc financial analysis for leadership review.
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining robust financial controls.
- Supporting process improvement initiatives across finance and wider business functions.
- Assisting with preparation of audit schedules and responding to audit queries.
- Ensuring compliance with financial governance and health and safety requirements where applicable.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) with strong management accounting experience and commercial awareness. They will have experience in budgeting and forecasting and ideally exposure to business partnering. Strong analytical capability, confidence communicating financial information to non-finance stakeholders and good systems knowledge (including Microsoft Office and ideally Microsoft D365 or similar) are essential. The successful candidate will be proactive, organised and focused on adding value beyond core reporting.
