This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic aviation team in a critical training leadership role. Working closely with operational managers, this position is responsible for the design, delivery, and oversight of ground operations training across multiple locations, ensuring all activities are carried out in line with safety, legal, and regulatory standards.
Location
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Designing and delivering ground operations training in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Supporting off-island training and responding flexibly to operational needs, including occasional weekend or evening work.
- Updating training materials and procedures in response to regulatory changes.
- Coordinating with station managers, senior leaders, and external authorities on training matters.
- Conducting audits to identify training gaps and recommending improvements.
- Facilitating all levels of training from induction to annual refreshers (including health & safety, customer service, technical, and supervisory skills).
- Maintaining and reviewing training records, monthly reports, and employee focus plans.
- Acting as the designated contact for Dangerous Goods (DG) training and CAA compliance.
- Providing support across the business for all training-related requirements.
- Travelling as required to deliver training at short notice, sometimes for extended periods.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a recognised training qualification (e.g. PTLLS or Level 3 Award in Education) and have experience designing and delivering training in a regulated operational environment. Knowledge of ground handling, aircraft dispatch, and ramp procedures is essential, as is familiarity with Dangerous Goods Regulations (IATA DG). Strong communication and presentation skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure are key. A background in aviation, operations, or logistics will be highly advantageous. Candidates should be self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently while supporting a wider team. A management qualification (e.g. CMI) would be an asset.
