Financial Control Manager

• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Oversee the preparation of statutory financial statements and supporting disclosures.
• Coordinate external audit requirements and act as a key point of contact for auditors.
• Maintain effective balance sheet controls, including reconciliations and supporting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, internal policies and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Prepare and review management reports, financial performance analysis and key financial metrics.
• Work closely with Finance Business Partners to provide accurate information supporting business decisions.
• Identify financial trends, risks and opportunities through reporting and analysis.
• Oversee finance operations, including outsourced accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Monitor service delivery, financial controls and operational performance across internal and external teams.
• Manage cash and treasury processes, including covenant monitoring and reporting.
• Provide technical accounting guidance and support to colleagues and stakeholders.
• Review financial information, reconciliations and control documentation prepared by delivery teams.
• Coordinate workflows and ensure reporting deadlines and service standards are met.
• Support finance transformation initiatives, system enhancements and process improvements.
• Contribute to the development of effective and consistent financial reporting and control procedures.

The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with a recognised UK professional qualification, together with at least 5 years' finance experience, including relevant post-qualification experience in financial control, statutory reporting or management accounting. You'll have strong technical accounting knowledge and proven experience managing month-end and year-end processes, statutory financial statements, external audits and balance sheet reconciliations. Excellent analytical, organisational and stakeholder management skills are essential, alongside the ability to interpret financial information and support business performance reporting. Experience within a regulated or professional services environment, providing technical guidance and overseeing shared service or outsourced finance teams, would be particularly valuable. Exposure to finance transformation, system improvements and process enhancementswould also be advantageous.
