Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the maintenance of the organisation's Register of Processing Activities, liaising with business teams to gather and update information.
  • Log, review and help progress Data Subject Rights Requests within the required legal timescales.
  • Assist with Data Protection Impact Assessments, including gathering information and maintaining accurate records.
  • Support the onboarding of third parties in line with internal policies and procedures.
  • Help maintain data protection policies, procedures, guidance and training materials.
  • Coordinate data protection training and awareness activities across the business.
  • Log and undertake the initial review of reported data incidents, escalating potential breaches promptly.
  • Maintain accurate data protection records to support reporting to senior management and the Board.
  • Collect tax information and self-certification documentation for trust and corporate clients.
  • Assist with FATCA and CRS classification checks and supporting documentation.
  • Support the preparation of FATCA and CRS returns for the Guernsey and Jersey businesses.
  • Monitor relevant tax and regulatory developments and highlight potential operational implications.
  • Assist with the review of W-8 documentation relating to trading in US-source assets.
  • Create and maintain operational tax processes and procedure documents.
  • Assist with client communications relating to annual tax reporting.
  • Support the preparation of annual 1042 and 1042-S Qualified Intermediary returns.
  • Provide administrative and operational assistance to the wider risk function as required.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have previous exposure to data protection, compliance, legal, operational tax or risk administration, preferably within a regulated financial services environment. A basic understanding of data protection legislation, FATCA, CRS or QI reporting requirements would be beneficial, alongside familiarity with client structures and CDD requirements. They will be highly organised and detail-focused, with good written and verbal communication skills, the ability to follow structured processes accurately and the confidence to escalate issues appropriately. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and experience using AI-enabled productivity tools, would be advantageous. Relevant qualifications in data protection, tax, compliance, risk or financial services are desirable but not essential.
