This is a brilliant leadership role for an experienced finance professional who enjoys improving processes, developing teams and supporting strategic business growth. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you'll oversee financial reporting, budgeting, governance and operational performance while helping shape the continued evolution of the finance function. The role combines technical accounting expertise with meaningful leadership responsibility.
Location
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the internal Finance function, ensuring high-quality service delivery and consistent standards.
- Lead, mentor and develop Finance Managers and Assistant Managers, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team culture.
- Oversee workflow, resource planning and team utilisation to ensure priorities and deadlines are achieved.
- Support the preparation of consolidated monthly financial reporting, annual budgets and strategic financial plans.
- Monitor financial performance, identify trends and support senior leadership with commercial decision-making.
- Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, systems and controls, including automation and transformation initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance on complex accounting matters, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and best practice.
- Maintain effective financial governance and internal controls to support audits and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor changes in financial regulations and ensure appropriate implementation across the finance function.
- Contribute to wider business initiatives, system enhancements and organisational development projects.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, providing financial insight and strategic support across the business.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with extensive experience within an internal finance function and a minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior finance leadership role. You'll possess outstanding technical accounting knowledge together with experience of financial reporting, AI, budgeting, financial analysis and data visualisation, supported by strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking. An inspiring and collaborative leader, you'll have excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels while developing high-performing teams. Strong analytical ability, exceptional attention to detail and a passion for driving process improvement, governance and operational excellence will be key to your success in this role.
