This is a senior trust administration opportunity for a technically strong individual ready to step into broader team responsibility! The Assistant Manager will manage a defined client portfolio while supporting the Manager in driving performance and governance standards.
Location
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Taking responsibility for the administration of a portfolio of trust and company clients, ensuring ongoing activity is properly managed and reported.
- Supporting the Manager in overseeing team workflow, utilisation and performance targets.
- Delegating tasks appropriately to Senior Trust Officers, Trust Officers and Administrators, ensuring deadlines are met and workloads remain balanced.
- Reviewing client files, systems and working practices to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Monitoring billing, WIP and receivables for the portfolio and assisting in managing aged debt.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of trust legislation, corporate governance standards, AML and compliance regulations.
- Mentoring and training junior team members, identifying development needs and supporting technical growth.
- Assisting in performance appraisals for direct and indirect reports.
- Escalating complex client or operational issues to senior management where required.
- Contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of internal systems and processes.
- Acting as an authorised "B" signatory where appropriate.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold, or be working towards, a professional qualification such as STEP, CGI, ACCA or ACA, or possess significant relevant experience in trust and company administration. They will demonstrate strong technical capability across fiduciary structures, financial record keeping and regulatory compliance. They will have emerging or established line management experience, excellent organisational and communication skills, and the ability to balance client service excellence with operational efficiency. A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to mentor others are essential.
