A rare leadership opportunity has arisen for a senior professional to join a well-established organisation in Guernsey's insurance sector. This role is ideally suited to a qualified individual with significant experience in captive insurance, exceptional relationship management abilities, and the confidence to lead on client service delivery and regulatory matters at board level.

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Acting as the primary strategic contact for a portfolio of key clients.
  • Ensuring consistent, timely and high-quality delivery of all services across the client base.
  • Leading client board meetings and presenting on key matters.
  • Reviewing and approving business plans and regulatory submissions to the GFSC.
  • Overseeing client compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Reviewing policy documentation, fee quotes, and contractually binding insurance records.
  • Approving board packs and client annual returns as General Representative.
  • Managing and resolving client concerns professionally and effectively.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure service continuity and communication.
  • Representing the company at industry events and professional forums such as GIIA.
  • Contributing to the identification of service improvements and cost-efficiency opportunities.
  • Acting as Director or Alternate Director on client entities as required.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold a recognised professional qualification and have at least 10 years' experience in a captive insurance environment. They will demonstrate strategic thinking, operational rigour, and strong people leadership. Key attributes include:

  • Proven experience leading high-level client service within the insurance sector.
  • Strong understanding of technical insurance and regulatory documentation.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure while balancing priorities.
  • A collaborative mindset and professional conduct.
  • Demonstrated strategic and commercial awareness.
