A technically engaging fixed-term role supporting the development of data-led solutions within a respected regulatory environment. This position forms part of a broader transformation programme, focused on improving the quality, consistency, and accessibility of data across multiple systems. This is a fixed-term temporary position for 18 months to 3 years.
Location
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Liaising with internal teams to define data requirements and design analytical solutions.
- Developing machine learning models, natural language processing tools, and optimisation techniques to support supervision.
- Writing production-grade code in Python, R, and SQL.
- Querying and analysing data from relational databases and understanding existing data structures.
- Creating dashboards and visual outputs using tools such as R Shiny and Power BI.
- Presenting findings, models, and tools to a wide range of internal stakeholders.
- Advising supervisors on the integration of data-driven tools into regulatory processes.
- Contributing to broader data strategy projects and providing training and documentation as required.
- Supporting innovation and identifying areas for digital improvement and process efficiency.
- Working collaboratively with project managers, developers, and third-party providers.
- Representing the organisation in professional settings such as workshops or training events.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have practical experience in applying data science techniques to real-world challenges, particularly within regulated, financial, or institutional settings. Strong knowledge of data querying, statistical modelling, and machine learning is essential, along with fluency in programming languages such as Python, R and SQL. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills are also required, alongside the ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional project team.
