FTC Data Scientist

• Liaising with internal teams to define data requirements and design analytical solutions.
• Developing machine learning models, natural language processing tools, and optimisation techniques to support supervision.
• Writing production-grade code in Python, R, and SQL.
• Querying and analysing data from relational databases and understanding existing data structures.
• Creating dashboards and visual outputs using tools such as R Shiny and Power BI.
• Presenting findings, models, and tools to a wide range of internal stakeholders.
• Advising supervisors on the integration of data-driven tools into regulatory processes.
• Contributing to broader data strategy projects and providing training and documentation as required.
• Supporting innovation and identifying areas for digital improvement and process efficiency.
• Working collaboratively with project managers, developers, and third-party providers.
• Representing the organisation in professional settings such as workshops or training events.

The ideal candidate will have practical experience in applying data science techniques to real-world challenges, particularly within regulated, financial, or institutional settings. Strong knowledge of data querying, statistical modelling, and machine learning is essential, along with fluency in programming languages such as Python, R and SQL. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills are also required, alongside the ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional project team.
