Working within a Client Reporting team, this trainee role provides practical experience in trust accounting, reconciliations and financial reporting. This position would ideally suit someone with strong academic foundations who is keen to develop a long-term career in accounting or fiduciary services!
Location
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining accurate and timely accounting records for trust and company structures.
- Reconciling accounting records to portfolio statements received from financial institutions.
- Assisting with the preparation of financial statements in line with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Supporting quarterly and annual investment monitoring processes.
- Coordinating with internal teams and liaising with external stakeholders, including advisers, bankers and lawyers, alongside Client Services.
- Participating in process improvement, automation and system development initiatives within Client Reporting and Investment Monitoring.
- Supporting the management and use of automated data feeds from third-party custodians.
- Assisting with ad hoc reporting and accounting tasks as required.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have academic results sufficient to commence the ACCA qualification, either through university-level study or strong A-level results. They will be analytically minded, detail-oriented and comfortable working with numbers, with well-developed IT skills and a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Excellent communication skills are essential, alongside the ability to work collaboratively within a team and engage with stakeholders at varying levels of seniority in a multicultural environment. Previous exposure to bookkeeping, accounting, private banking or the fiduciary sector would be advantageous but is not essential. Fluency in English is required, with additional languages considered a plus.
