Our client is seeking a Technical Specialist or Senior Analyst (Policy) to join their Banking and Insurance Division. This role will focus on developing and implementing regulatory policy across banking, insurance, lending, and digital asset sectors. The successful candidate will analyse regulatory developments, engage with stakeholders, and contribute to shaping policy that supports innovation and protects the Bailiwick's reputation as a leading international financial centre.

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring and understanding regulatory developments, international standards, and industry guidance.
  • Assisting with drafting and reviewing legislation, rules, guidance, and supervisory policies.
  • Leading or contributing to consultation papers, discussion documents, and responses to industry feedback.
  • Supporting the introduction and implementation of new supervisory frameworks in line with international best practice.
  • Liaising with industry stakeholders, regulators, and professional bodies, and representing the organisation in meetings and workshops.
  • Contributing to the Commission's supervisory responsibilities through analysis, communication, and policy support.
  • Leading or assisting with internal projects, statistical exercises, and process reviews.
  • Keeping up to date with developments in financial services, particularly across banking, insurance, lending, and digital assets.
  • Supporting colleagues through advice, guidance, and knowledge sharing.
  • Participating in Risk Governance Panels and contributing to system and process improvements.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience in policy development or technical areas such as banking, insurance, auditing, actuarial work, or financial regulation. Strong analytical and writing skills, together with the ability to communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders, are essential. A good understanding of at least one regulated sector is required, with the opportunity to develop further technical expertise supported by training and professional qualifications. Candidates should be proactive, adaptable, and confident working both independently and as part of a team.
