A unique opportunity to take on a senior strategic role within a high-profile not-for-profit organisation that provides essential public services. This part-time position (18.75 hours per week) forms a key part of the Senior Leadership Team and is suited to an experienced finance professional who thrives on delivering robust governance, insightful business planning, and cross-functional leadership.
Location
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Acting as Treasurer and ensuring financial governance aligns with local regulatory requirements.
- Providing financial leadership to the CEO, Board, and Senior Leadership Team.
- Developing strategic financial plans, forecasts, and operational budgets.
- Leading the production and interpretation of management accounts, board reports, and financial statements.
- Overseeing payroll, pensions, insurance, treasury, and contract renewals.
- Managing external audit processes and ensuring strong internal controls.
- Supporting the Financial Controller with the day-to-day operation of the finance team.
- Acting as a lead on IT vendor management, digital transformation, and resource strategy.
- Contributing to cross-organisational forums and collaborative executive planning.
- Supporting project oversight and evaluating financial impact of key initiatives.
- Mentoring staff, promoting professional development, and nurturing future leaders.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA or equivalent) with at least five years' experience in a senior finance leadership role, including board-level exposure. They should have experience in producing financial statements under UK GAAP or IFRS and demonstrate strong strategic, commercial and interpersonal skills. A sound understanding of integrated systems, payroll oversight, and digital transformation is desirable, alongside a collaborative, values-driven approach.
