Joining the team on a contract through to December 2026, you'll support installations, maintenance and technical assistance for both residential and business customers. This full-time (37.5hrspw) position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on engineering work, resolving faults and delivering excellent customer experiences.
Location
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Installing and maintaining fixed-line broadband and telephone services.
- Supporting business services and Customer Premises Equipment (CPE).
- Maintaining public telephone kiosks.
- Installing and supporting Lifeline products.
- Carrying out underground and overhead plant work, including pole installation and recovery.
- Working on leased line circuits, ISDN/SIP services and data centre works.
- Running fibre and copper cabling between data racks and patch areas.
- Performing fibre splicing for relevant services.
- Coordinating with suppliers and customers for installations and maintenance.
- Managing task lists, fault queues and customer queries.
- Providing remote support to Alderney and Sark engineers.
- Completing chargeable workforms and out-of-hours support as required.
- Maintaining company vehicles and adhering to H&S, regulatory and data protection requirements.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be technically skilled or eager to train to that level, with strong problem-solving ability and first-class customer service skills. They must be comfortable working at heights, in adverse weather and across varied environments. A Category B driving licence is essential. Experience in telecommunications, cabling or engineering is desirable, along with a proactive, reliable and safety-conscious approach.
