Join a specialist Financial Crime team where you'll help protect the business through effective oversight, analysis and risk-based controls. You'll support a broad range of activities including suspicious activity reporting, sanctions and due diligence while working closely with colleagues across Compliance, Risk and Operations. Location
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Support the MLRO, Deputy MLRO and senior Compliance colleagues with financial crime matters.
- Assist with the review and administration of internal Suspicious Activity Reports.
- Maintain clear and accurate audit trails relating to SAR activity.
- Support sanctions matters and the escalation of unusual or higher-risk activity.
- Assist with AML/CFT/CPF and wider financial crime regulatory requirements.
- Support CDD, EDD, client risk assessments, ongoing monitoring and remediation.
- Monitor relevant regulatory developments and emerging financial crime risks.
- Prepare management information, committee papers and financial crime reporting.
- Support regulatory submissions and internal assurance activity.
- Contribute to risk assessments, control reviews and financial crime projects.
- Support the development and delivery of financial crime training.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial crime processes, controls and monitoring.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have relevant experience within financial crime, AML or Compliance in financial services, ideally gained within life insurance, fiduciary, investment or wealth management. You'll have a good working knowledge of Guernsey AML/CFT/CPF requirements, sanctions obligations and the GFSC Handbook on Countering Financial Crime, together with an understanding of CDD, EDD, client risk assessments, ongoing monitoring, sanctions screening and suspicious activity reporting. Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills are essential, alongside the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and apply a practical risk-based approach. A relevant Compliance, Financial Crime or AML qualification would be advantageous, or you should be actively working towards one.
