Join a specialist financial services organisation in a senior role that combines leadership in both data protection and enterprise risk management. Acting as the primary point of contact for all data protection and privacy matters, you will also contribute to broader operational resilience and corporate governance. This dual role offers strategic influence, stakeholder engagement and the opportunity to shape best practice across compliance, risk and data security.

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring and maintaining compliance with GDPR and relevant local legislation.
  • Leading the development and implementation of data governance and protection policies.
  • Acting as the main contact for data protection authorities, internal teams and clients.
  • Managing and responding to DSARs and overseeing breach investigation and reporting.
  • Delivering staff training and promoting a culture of data protection awareness.
  • Supporting risk reporting to the Board and Committees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Promoting a risk-aware culture across the business and embedding risk appetite in decision-making.
  • Collaborating with risk owners to assess internal controls and mitigation strategies.
  • Supporting the design of risk policies and procedures and aligning them with strategic goals.
  • Advising on data protection impact assessments and technology-related privacy risks.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be GDPR-qualified (Foundation and Practitioner level) with a minimum of five years' experience in data protection, risk, or compliance-preferably within financial services. They must have excellent communication and analytical skills, a sound understanding of data protection legislation, and the ability to influence at a senior level. Strong attention to detail, stakeholder engagement, and experience in drafting and presenting reports are essential. A high level of integrity and professionalism is expected in handling sensitive information.
