Join a collaborative Mortgage Sales team where you'll help turn customer enquiries into well-managed lending journeys. You'll work directly with customers to understand their circumstances, complete affordability assessments and progress applications while maintaining close communication throughout. Strong mortgage knowledge, sound judgement and excellent communication skills will be essential.

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Respond to new and existing customer mortgage enquiries.
  • Conduct structured fact-finds to understand customers' individual needs and circumstances.
  • Explain available mortgage options clearly and help customers identify suitable solutions.
  • Complete affordability assessments and Approval in Principle calculations.
  • Support customers throughout the mortgage application process.
  • Ensure applications and supporting documentation are complete before submission.
  • Work closely with Mortgage Sales, Onboarding and Credit teams.
  • Maintain proactive communication with customers regarding progress, timescales and next steps.
  • Support existing customers with retention, further advances and product transfers.
  • Identify and appropriately support vulnerable customers or those requiring reasonable adjustments.
  • Maintain complete and accurate customer records and protect confidential information.
  • Keep up to date with mortgage products, lending criteria, regulation and market developments.
  • Identify and escalate complaints, risks, incidents and control weaknesses.
  • Contribute to wider team objectives, projects and continuous improvement.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be CeMAP qualified with customer-facing sales, advice or financial services experience and a good working knowledge of mortgage products, affordability assessments, lending criteria and the mortgage application process. You'll be an excellent communicator and listener, with the confidence to build trusted customer relationships and explain financial information clearly. A sound awareness of financial services regulation, conduct risk, AML and data protection requirements is also essential. Previous mortgage sales or advice experience would be particularly advantageous, as would DipMap, knowledge of the Guernsey LCF, familiarity with UK and Channel Islands property markets and experience using mortgage or CRM systems such as Salesforce.
