Bring your Internal Audit leadership experience to a role with broad influence across the Guernsey business and its branches. You'll oversee the local audit agenda, lead commercially focused reviews and provide senior stakeholders with clear assurance over risk, controls and governance. The position also offers the opportunity to develop talent within the local team.
Location
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Direct and manage Internal Audit activity across the Guernsey business and its branches.
- Develop and deliver the annual risk-based Internal Audit plan.
- Lead financial and operational audits across the organisation.
- Evaluate internal controls, risk management, fraud risk and governance arrangements.
- Present audit findings and practical recommendations to senior management.
- Act as a key Internal Audit contact for the Guernsey Executive Committee.
- Prepare Executive MI and Audit Committee papers.
- Support assurance opinions on key systems of internal control.
- Prepare regulatory reporting relating to Internal Audit where required.
- Monitor and validate the closure of agreed audit actions.
- Build strong relationships with senior management and wider control functions.
- Lead, coach and develop the Internal Audit team.
- Promote continuous improvement and provide internal consultancy where appropriate.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be a professionally qualified and experienced Internal Audit leader, holding a qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIIA, with strong expertise across internal controls, risk management and governance. You'll have the credibility and confidence to build relationships with Executive and senior stakeholders, lead complex risk-based audits and present clear, commercially focused findings and recommendations. Experience within financial services is desirable and previous exposure to the insurance industry would be particularly advantageous, while technology audit and data analytics experience would also be beneficial. Strong leadership capability is important, with line management experience desirable as the successful candidate will have one direct report in Guernsey.
