From operational resilience and financial crime to technology and third-party risk, this position spans the full spectrum of non-financial risk management. Working closely with local leadership and Group functions, you'll help ensure robust governance while promoting a strong risk culture across the business.
Location
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the design, implementation and ongoing enhancement of the non-financial risk management framework.
- Acting as a trusted adviser to business leaders on risk management, governance and internal controls.
- Coordinating Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) and monitoring remediation activities.
- Maintaining the local Risk Appetite Framework, Key Risk Indicators and risk reporting.
- Monitoring operational risk events, incidents and control effectiveness.
- Supporting the implementation and oversight of Global Minimum Controls and Key Control Plans.
- Preparing risk reporting and governance papers for management committees.
- Tracking audit findings, regulatory actions and self-identified risk items through to completion.
- Overseeing third-party risk management activities and associated controls.
- Supporting operational resilience, business continuity and risk awareness initiatives.
- Coaching and developing junior risk team members where appropriate.
- Promoting a positive risk culture across the business through guidance, training and stakeholder engagement.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have significant experience within a non-financial risk, operational risk, controls or governance function gained within a regulated financial services environment. They will demonstrate a strong understanding of risk management frameworks, internal controls, policy development and regulatory expectations, together with experience independently managing risk and control activities. Excellent stakeholder management, analytical and communication skills are essential, alongside the ability to influence senior management and provide pragmatic, solutions-focused advice. A relevant professional qualification is required, and previous experience within private banking or wealth management would be advantageous. The successful candidate will be commercially minded, resilient and capable of balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
