Our client is seeking an experienced Risk & Compliance professional to oversee regulatory obligations and risk management processes. Working closely with senior leadership, you will ensure a structured and commercially aware approach to compliance.

Guernsey, Channel Islands

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the firm's day-to-day compliance activity, ensuring regulatory obligations and monitoring reviews are completed accurately and on time.
  • Managing the Compliance Monitoring Programme, including testing, documentation and follow-up of findings.
  • Ensuring sanctions screening, adverse media monitoring and periodic or trigger-event reviews are conducted appropriately.
  • Monitoring regulatory developments and implementing relevant changes within the business.
  • Serving as a member of the Risk & Compliance Committee and contributing to governance discussions.
  • Identifying areas of business risk and developing proportionate controls, processes and procedures to mitigate exposure.
  • Providing structured and regular reporting on risk and compliance matters to the board and senior management.
  • Managing relationships with outsourced compliance providers, including oversight of MLRO and MLCO services.
  • Promoting a risk-aware culture across the organisation through training and guidance.
  • Line managing and supporting the development of a junior compliance team member.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience within an in-house or outsourced compliance role in a regulated financial services environment, with a strong understanding of relevant regulatory expectations. Knowledge of the Guernsey regulatory framework would be advantageous. They will demonstrate a commercially pragmatic approach to applying regulatory requirements, alongside excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. A relevant professional qualification, or a willingness to work towards one, is desirable. Strong communication skills, leadership capability, and the ability to embed a risk-aware culture across the business are essential.
