Our client is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to take responsibility for a complex client portfolio, combining technical trust expertise with leadership and client relationship management!

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Acting as a primary point of contact for clients and their advisers, maintaining strong relationships and clear lines of communication.
  • Managing client expectations and ensuring reports and information are delivered professionally and on time.
  • Performing day-to-day administration on, and taking responsibility for, a portfolio of trust and corporate client entities.
  • Ensuring client and internal requests are actioned promptly and professionally, with full supporting documentation prepared and filed.
  • Liaising with third-party banks, investment managers and other agents to ensure client assets are properly managed, reviewed and reconciled.
  • Conducting periodic reviews of client entities to ensure all regulatory and compliance requirements are met.
  • Accurately recording work on timesheets to support fee recoverability and efficiency targets.
  • Preparing, maintaining and reviewing client accounting records and related documentation.
  • Monitoring and clearing debtors in line with agreed targets.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members, delivering on-the-job training and responding to technical queries.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be an experienced trust professional with at least 7 years' technical trust experience gained within financial or fiduciary services, alongside detailed experience within Guernsey and Jersey trust companies. They will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and be confident dealing with high-value clients and professional advisers by telephone, in correspondence and face to face. The role requires the ability to work under pressure to meet fixed deadlines, make sound decisions and recognise when to seek guidance. Strong IT skills are essential, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, alongside a thorough understanding of relevant anti-money laundering legislation. The successful candidate will be a collaborative team player with a positive, 'can do, will do' attitude and strong work ethic. STEP or ICSA qualification (or part-qualification) is required, with knowledge of additional structuring vehicles such as Limited Partnerships, Foundations or PTCs considered advantageous.
