Financial Controller - Trust

This is a key leadership role within the finance function of a well-established financial services business. Supporting the trust division, the successful candidate will oversee the accurate and timely production of financial and management reporting, budget control, and audit coordination, while ensuring systems and records are maintained to the highest standards.

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing trust accounting and reporting to support senior management.
  • Managing the production of financial and management reports across monthly, quarterly and annual cycles.
  • Maintaining accurate accounting records and ledger balances.
  • Leading the billing process and supporting debtor control.
  • Supporting the preparation of the annual financial budget.
  • Coordinating external audits and ensuring effective responses to auditor queries.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert on key systems including Excel, Navision, SAP, Adaptive Insights and Worksite.
  • Providing accounting insight for queries and contributing to special projects.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be highly organised and confident in financial reporting. Knowledge of accruals, prepayments, ledger entries and accounting standards is required, along with excellent system literacy and understanding of the Guernsey regulatory environment.
