This is a unique opportunity to lead a team of professional pilots for a well-established aviation business. As Pilot Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving performance, engagement, and safety standards across the flight operations department. The role combines people leadership with compliance oversight and offers variety, responsibility, and the chance to make a meaningful impact on operational excellence.
Location
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Providing line management and support to the pilot team, ensuring visibility and accessibility.
- Overseeing pilot recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and exit processes.
- Driving engagement and alignment with company culture and values.
- Managing pilot attendance, appraisals, compliance, and workflow.
- Handling conflict resolution, disciplinary matters, and HR policy application.
- Maintaining key operational manuals and ensuring safety and quality standards.
- Leading departmental communications and supporting continuous improvement.
- Acting as a key liaison for internal stakeholders and supporting the Head of Flight Operations.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of management experience and a proven background in operations or flight management. Experience in writing operational procedures, managing complex employee matters, and a collaborative, people-first approach are essential. Strong conflict resolution, organisational, and communication skills are key, along with a sound understanding of Guernsey's working environment. Local residential status is required for airside pass application.
