This is a hands-on management role for someone who enjoys balancing people leadership with client-facing responsibility! As Trust Manager, you will oversee operational delivery, client service excellence and team performance within a regulated fiduciary setting.
Location
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Managing, delegating and overseeing the team's routine processing across trust and company administration.
- Overseeing cash management, exercise of discretionary powers and maintenance of statutory and client records.
- Reviewing and monitoring client investment portfolios.
- Providing management information and reporting to senior management.
- Attending management meetings and contributing to the development and enhancement of internal practices and procedures.
- Ensuring internal policies, procedures and regulatory requirements are consistently followed.
- Delivering an exceptional level of client service across all relationships.
- Ensuring chargeable time utilisation targets are met and that invoices are raised and settled in a timely manner.
- Monitoring and following up aged debtors for the team.
- Acting as primary relationship manager for a number of clients and intermediaries.
- Identifying opportunities to develop client relationships and support cross-selling initiatives.
- Effectively supervising the team through setting SMART objectives, performance management and appraisals.
- Providing on-the-job training, task delegation and follow-up to ensure completion.
- Maintaining awareness of the regulatory environment and ensuring review comments and compliance action points are diarised and addressed.
- Contributing to satisfactory audit outcomes through strong controls and governance.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a relevant professional qualification such as STEP, ICSA or ACCA and have strong experience in offshore trust and company administration. They will demonstrate excellent organisational and time management skills, alongside strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation abilities. Proven experience managing a team, meeting billing and cash collection targets and delivering high levels of client service is essential. A solid understanding of Guernsey's regulatory environment is required, together with a commercial mindset, willingness to travel when necessary and a track record of developing and maintaining trusted client relationships.
