Our client, a full service community bank and a provider of specialised international financial services, is seeking to recruit a Senior Compliance Analyst.

Interpret and apply relevant international and local regulations to the business.
Formulate policies and procedures in line with the company's standards and regulatory requirements.
Perform monitoring in accordance with the annual compliance validation testing program and to ensure all action items raised as a result of said monitoring are escalated where appropriate and are worked to a conclusion.
Assist as required to produce management Information reports for the Board/Senior Management and various committees regarding; compliance testing and/or monitoring, compliance updates and emerging regulatory issues.
Help develop and deliver relevant effective compliance training to all levels of staff to ensure the organisation complies with GFSC requirements/ group guidelines.
Analyse data and reports and produce meaningful and concise summaries.
Identify data quality issues, recommend solutions and implement change.
Notify management upon any discovery of standards not met with recommendations for rectification or improvement.
Support the Compliance Officer/MLCO in relation to regulatory enquiries and/or correspondence including regulatory inspections and audit reviews.
Act as point of contact for day to day compliance queries from all areas of the business but primarily Trust and Managed entities.
Help to encourage a compliance culture throughout the business.
Liaise effectively and persuasively with other managers and staff across the Bank and Trust Company’s departments and sister companies, so that compliance monitoring and training is effective and at the same time is viewed positively by management and staff.
Review transaction reports and suspicious activity reports and alerts and summarise findings; be prepared to draft external suspicious activity reports as required.
Undertake any ad-hoc requests under the instruction of the Compliance CVT manager.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role and hold a relevant professional qualification. Applicants will demonstrate a range of experience and knowledge in Guernsey legislation and regulations and Financial Crime/AML and all or part of the banking, investment and fiduciary financial industry sectors within Guernsey. The successful candidate will be able to analyse, interpret and report on emerging regulatory issues, existing compliance regulations and monitoring within any given deadlines. They will demonstrate accurate report preparation and have excellent report writing and analytical skills, with the ability to adapt to change and work flexibly. The role will suit a meticulous team player, who works well under their own initiative, has excellent communication skills and prioritises workloads to exacting deadlines.
