A superb opportunity to join a dynamic, multi-jurisdictional private client legal practice that advises on high-value, non-contentious trust and private wealth matters. The successful candidate will be based in Guernsey and work closely with colleagues across dispute resolution and corporate teams, providing bespoke legal advice to private clients, trustees, and family offices. This role is well suited to an experienced associate seeking a high degree of responsibility, client engagement, and career development within a supportive, well-connected team.

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Advising on non-contentious trust matters, private wealth structures, and related documentation.
  • Conducting legal analysis and drafting opinions, correspondence, and transactional documents.
  • Reviewing third-party documents and advising on risks, compliance, and structuring options.
  • Coordinating internal matter administration such as conflict checks, engagement letters and billing.
  • Managing your own caseload while assisting and supervising junior fee earners where appropriate.
  • Supporting partners by taking initiative in resolving queries and progressing matters independently.
  • Contributing to technical training, team development, and knowledge sharing initiatives.
  • Participating in business development, marketing, and client networking activities.
  • Meeting local CPD requirements and maintaining accurate professional development records.
  • Upholding and demonstrating the firm's values in all internal and external interactions.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor or barrister (preferably from a common law jurisdiction), with approximately 5 to 6 years' post-qualification experience in a relevant private client or trust practice. STEP qualification is desirable, or a willingness to pursue it. Excellent organisational, drafting and client-facing skills are essential, as is the ability to manage multiple priorities within deadlines. A proactive approach, strong commercial awareness, and a collaborative mindset will be key to success in this role.
