IT Application Engineer

• Installing, maintaining, and retiring services across Managed IT and Mimecast platforms.
• Providing support for customer faults and acting as a technical point of contact.
• Delivering subject matter expertise on implementation projects and live service delivery.
• Mentoring SOC staff on managed IT and Mimecast issues.
• Leading on technical projects, including creating and updating documentation.
• Supporting the development of processes, procedures, and work instructions.
• Communicating clearly with customers, providing updates, and ensuring satisfaction levels are exceeded.
• Recording customer meeting notes and handing over accurate documentation.
• Participating in the on-call rota for out-of-hours support when required.
• Ensuring compliance with licensing, data protection, health & safety, and information security responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in a similar role with strong technical knowledge across Microsoft 365, Office 365, Windows 10/11, Enterprise Mobility + Security (EMS), SharePoint, Teams, and email security gateway tools. Experience in supporting Mimecast services is required, ideally backed up with Mimecast Warrior or Gladiator qualifications (or equivalent). Knowledge of Microsoft/Office 365 security (Azure ATP, DLP, AIP, Windows Defender ATP), Entra ID, Windows Server, Exchange, and group policies is essential. Networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, IP Subnetting) and hands-on experience with wired and wireless networks are expected, while Citrix administration would be an advantage. Professional certifications such as Microsoft 365 (MS-900, AZ-900, MS-700), AZ-104, or AZ-500 would also be desirable. The successful candidate will be proactive, client-focused, and solutions-driven, with strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
