A unique temporary opportunity to provide high-level executive and legal support to senior legal officers, assisting them in their diverse responsibilities across legal advisory, governance, and investigative functions. The position requires exceptional organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive matters and prioritise in a fast-paced and, at times, unpredictable environment.

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for senior legal officers and managing their diaries, correspondence, and meeting arrangements.
  • Providing comprehensive executive legal support, including preparing, formatting, and managing legal documentation, bundling, minute-taking, and legal research.
  • Monitoring multiple official email accounts, prioritising urgent matters, and delegating or responding as appropriate.
  • Assisting with governance, coronial, and investigative functions, including preparing court documentation, property visits, and handling sensitive situations with discretion.
  • Coordinating official visits, ceremonial events, and meetings, ensuring correct protocols are followed.
  • Supporting urgent legal and operational matters, including occasional out-of-hours work where required.
  • Maintaining accurate records, spreadsheets, and the electronic document management system.
  • Liaising with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including government officials, legal professionals, and members of the public.
  • Contributing to business improvement projects within the organisation.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience in a senior Executive Assistant or Personal Assistant role, ideally within a legal or public sector environment. Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills are essential, along with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and manage competing priorities calmly and professionally. A qualification in law, management, business administration, or another relevant discipline is desirable, as is knowledge of governance processes. The role requires a proactive, resilient, and adaptable approach, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively to support senior officers in fulfilling their wide-ranging responsibilities.
