This position offers the opportunity to join a respected legal practice with a strong reputation in cross-jurisdictional trust and private client work. The role will focus on Guernsey-based non-contentious trust matters, working collaboratively with colleagues across multiple departments including dispute resolution and corporate. It is well suited to a qualified lawyer with experience in advisory work for private wealth clients and a proactive, development-minded approach.

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing legal advice and drafting documents on a range of non-contentious trust and private client matters.
  • Reviewing and commenting on third-party documentation using sound technical knowledge.
  • Managing files in accordance with internal policies, including time recording, due diligence, billing, and conflict checks.
  • Working under partner supervision, while also guiding and reviewing the work of junior fee earners.
  • Supporting business development and contributing to team marketing efforts.
  • Taking ownership of discrete legal tasks and delivering high-quality client service.
  • Participating in continuous professional development and knowledge sharing.
  • Promoting and upholding the values of the firm in all interactions.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold a Solicitor or Barrister qualification from a common law jurisdiction, with a minimum of two years' post-qualification experience in a relevant practice area. STEP qualification is preferred or a willingness to study toward it. Strong organisational and communication skills are essential, alongside experience working under pressure and managing multiple priorities. A collaborative mindset and a proactive approach to legal practice are key to success in this role.
