This is a hands-on leadership opportunity within a busy Corporate Banking environment. You'll supervise two Custody Account Managers, oversee operational delivery and become a key point of escalation while helping improve processes and team performance. It's ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge who is ready to take ownership at team level.
Location
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise and support a small team of Custody Account Managers.
- Oversee day-to-day client service and ensure appropriate service standards are maintained.
- Manage workflow and ensure work is distributed efficiently across the team.
- Act as the escalation point for complex operational issues and client complaints.
- Take ownership of front-office custody processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Support projects, system developments and testing activities.
- Lead regular team meetings and promote effective communication.
- Provide feedback, coaching and development support to team members.
- Develop detailed knowledge of relevant banking products, custody processes and procedures.
- Monitor operational risk and ensure the team complies with relevant policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support the identification of commercial opportunities and referrals.
- Produce regular reporting on team performance.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' experience within a front or middle-office client support environment, together with a strong understanding of custody operations, securities trading and settlement. Knowledge of funds, fund of funds or the role of a Custodian Trustee would be particularly advantageous. You'll have the organisational and interpersonal skills to supervise and motivate a small team, manage workflows and confidently handle escalated issues. Previous people management experience would be beneficial but isn't essential, making this an excellent opportunity for someone with the right technical knowledge and leadership potential to step into their first formal management role. A strong awareness of operational risk, a proactive approach to process improvement and the confidence to take real ownership of the team will be key.
