A unique opportunity to join a growing marine services provider and support yacht owners, managers and seafarers in delivering high-quality HR and compliance services. Working closely with the directors and crew employment teams, the successful candidate will ensure adherence to international maritime legislation while offering professional guidance to a broad client base. This varied role includes both operational oversight and leadership responsibilities, with travel opportunities and a chance to contribute to policy development.
Location
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the crew employment and payroll team with all HR and compliance matters relating to seafarer employment.
- Advising on employment agreements, policies, recruitment, and performance management.
- Handling HR issues including grievances, sickness, dismissals and disciplinary matters.
- Ensuring implementation and development of HR policies aligned with MLC, 2006.
- Acting as line manager to Crew Supervisors, conducting appraisals and reviews.
- Representing the organisation at client meetings and industry events.
- Promoting high standards of HR practice and compliance across the business.
- Providing training and acting as a technical point of contact for the wider team.
- Ensuring CPD is maintained and reported appropriately.
- Participating in board-level reporting and internal policy development.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have strong working knowledge of the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC, 2006) and experience working within a regulated maritime or crewing environment. They will be confident advising on complex HR issues and capable of handling sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism. Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced setting. Additional language skills and a CIPD qualification are desirable, and a willingness to travel is required.
