Our client a large group with an international presence and wide-ranging expertise, specialising in life-insurance-based wealth management and employee benefit solutions to a global audience, is seeking to recruit a Complaints Governance Legal Manager for their Customer Service Department.


Guernsey, Channel Islands


Act as a subject matter expert for handling of complex complaints, assessing legal and/or regulatory risk and establishing fair, robust and comprehensive responses.
Analyse complex queries surrounding financial products and act as a point of escalation for the operational teams.
Communicate with clients in a professional and engaging manner.
Effectively manage Conduct of Business Risk.
Identify preventative actions to reduce risk of future complaints.
Report to the Board and Executive Committee on themes and trends from complaints.
Assist in development and implementation of complaints processes/procedures.
Maintain responsibility for handling of complex complaints and driving to fair and effective resolution.
Provide support for a wider complaints caseload in liaison with the Complaints Governance team.
Liaise with key external stakeholders including the Channel Islands Financial Ombudsman, lawyers and regulators as appropriate, across multiple jurisdictions.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be educated to Degree level, and hold a relevant professional qualification, preferably in Accounting or Legal. Experience with Insurance, Banking, Investment and or Compliance and Corporate Governance is preferred. Applicants will possess solid IT skills along with excellent communication and organisation skills coupled with the ability to handle a complex caseload as well as multiple stakeholders. This role will suit a detailed, efficient and proactive team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
