Location
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Develop, maintain and enhance internal front-end applications.
- Write, optimise and troubleshoot T-SQL queries, stored procedures and functions.
- Investigate application and system issues and provide appropriate solutions or workarounds.
- Gather business requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions.
- Document code changes, technical specifications and user guidance.
- Create and execute test cases to support quality assurance.
- Contribute to the modernisation and future migration of legacy systems.
- Provide day-to-day technical support to local business teams.
- Work with senior developers across the wider global technology team.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing systems, processes and tools.
- Support and help develop the skills of a local trainee developer.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in software development and technology, with practical or academic experience of relational databases, T-SQL and VBA, together with an understanding of data modelling and database design. Exposure to VB.NET, Git, PowerShell, Python, SSRS or UI/UX principles would be advantageous, although a willingness and ability to learn new technologies is equally important. You'll ideally hold a degree in Computer Science, IT or a related discipline, although candidates from Finance or Economics backgrounds with strong technical skills and an interest in development will also be considered. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential, alongside excellent attention to detail and the confidence to support users, collaborate with senior developers and provide guidance to a trainee colleague. Knowledge of the funds or wider financial services industry would also be beneficial.
