Our client is recruiting a Trainee Service Desk Administrator to provide first-line IT support across the organisation. Full training will be provided, making this role ideal for a motivated candidate eager to develop technical skills!
Location
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Providing first-line IT support to end users across hardware and software queries.
- Logging, tracking and prioritising support tickets to ensure timely resolution.
- Assisting with setup and maintenance of computers, phones and other equipment.
- Supporting user account management for new starters and leavers.
- Conducting routine checks to ensure systems remain functional.
- Assisting with system testing, rollout and documentation during small projects.
- Supporting the Facilities team with workstation setup where required.
- Maintaining accurate IT asset registers and documentation.
- Adhering to IT policies, security standards and data protection requirements.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths and demonstrate a genuine interest in IT and computing. A Level 3 qualification in IT or equivalent is desirable, although not essential. Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential. Previous exposure to ITIL, Citrix, Active Directory or Service Desk platforms would be advantageous but full training will be provided.
