Join our client- a highly regarded professional services firm as a Supervising Accountant, overseeing accounting and control functions across group entities. This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and takes pride in maintaining precision and high standards.
Location
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records in line with accounting standards and company policies.
- Managing and reviewing the work of bookkeepers within the group.
- Overseeing the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Preparing and analysing management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.
- Leading the periodic billing cycles across operational entities.
- Supporting annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting activities.
- Collaborating with teams across the business to provide financial insights and guidance.
- Ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Analysing financial data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Assisting with audit preparation and coordination.
- Building strong working relationships with internal stakeholders to support financial understanding and accountability.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years' experience in accounting or financial control and hold, or be working towards, a recognised qualification such as ACCA or ICA. Educated to A-level standard (or equivalent), they will demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong communication, and the ability to work effectively across teams. A proactive mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment are essential, as is a collaborative approach that reflects the firm's professional values.
