FTC Senior Client Accounting Manager

This 9-month fixed term contract offers a senior-level, project-focused opportunity within a leading financial services business. The successful candidate will help strengthen governance, reporting, and control frameworks across the Client Accounting function. Working across both pension and trust client books, this role will lead remediation efforts, optimise management information reporting, and embed best practice accounting processes across the team.

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing existing KPIs, workflows, and checklists for both pension and trust accounting services.
  • Designing and implementing enhanced MI dashboards and reporting packs.
  • Identifying areas for billing optimisation through cost-to-serve analysis.
  • Defining and embedding best practice controls for trust client accounting.
  • Supporting QA reviews, training, and documentation roll-out.
  • Reviewing systems (e.g. Acumen, Salesforce) and contributing to data integrity and automation improvements.
  • Coordinating with IT and business change teams to recommend new tools or modules.
  • Leading remediation planning and delivery across both corporate and pension fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Aligning with Risk and Operations on control frameworks and sign-off criteria.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert and mentor within the senior Client Accounting team.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with 10+ years' experience in client accounting, and a strong understanding of pension and trust structures. Demonstrable experience in defining MI frameworks, leading cross-functional remediation efforts, and implementing governance best practice is essential. Familiarity with Acumen and broader financial systems, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative, hands-on leadership style will be key to success in this contract role.
