Join a leading organisation as a Credit Controller, supporting their busy finance team in managing trade accounts, credit control, and reconciliation activities. This is a permanent position available on either a part-time or full-time basis (32-37.5 hours per week), providing the chance to take ownership of a wide range of responsibilities within a collaborative environment!

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting credit, compliance, and due diligence checks on new and existing trade account customers.
  • Creating, maintaining, and monitoring customer accounts to ensure accuracy and risk mitigation.
  • Chasing aged receivables, issuing payment reminders, and resolving invoice-related queries.
  • Posting and allocating daily cash receipts and processing refunds, remittances, and vendor invoice deductions.
  • Supporting the sales team with business partner screening requirements.
  • Preparing month-end journals, bad debt provisions, write-offs, and accruals.
  • Drafting manual invoices, monitoring staff discount usage, and compiling reporting packs.
  • Assisting with customer care and call centre finance queries, including direct customer refunds.
  • Maintaining documented procedures for key tasks and supporting audit requests.
  • Providing cover for colleagues during busy periods or leave.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be part-qualified in ACCA/ACA/CAT/AAT or able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of double-entry bookkeeping through experience. Previous exposure to finance department operations is essential, and prior credit control experience would be advantageous. Strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders are required. Knowledge of Dynamics NAV and a basic understanding of VAT would be beneficial.
