Our client, a locally based trust company, is open to appointing either an MLRO, a Compliance Manager, or one individual who can cover both roles on a fixed-term contract for 12 months. This flexible opportunity offers involvement in all aspects of regulatory compliance-from managing internal controls and CMPs to fulfilling statutory MLRO duties, including SAR reporting and liaison with the regulator. Location
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance policies and procedures in line with local and international regulations.
- Acting as the main contact for regulatory authorities and external compliance officers.
- Conducting risk assessments, audits, and compliance sign-off on new business.
- Overseeing CDD processes, monitoring complaints, and maintaining statutory registers.
- Preparing board and regulatory reports, and liaising with auditors and legal advisors.
- Leading and managing a Compliance and Operations Administrator, providing training and guidance.
Skills / Qualifications
The successful applicant will have at least 5 years' compliance or regulatory experience within trust, fiduciary, or financial services, along with a relevant qualification such as ICA. Strong knowledge of the Guernsey regulatory framework is essential, as are excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills. The ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment and to influence at all levels is key.
