Our client is seeking to recruit a Senior Product and Pricing Lead.

Responsibilities

Offer support to the team and assist the company in reaching its strategic targets.
Assist with identifying risks, making recommendations, providing and explaining reports based on analysis and investigations, so that products are adequately priced and risks are appropriately managed.
Provide technical actuarial support to internal and external customers where requested.
Review and make recommendations on the company’s underwriting, pricing and reinsurance policies.
Analyse financial results, profitability, office experience and actuarial assumptions.
Participate in projects as the SME expert for the company in product developmental work.
Lead product design and product enhancement based on product and market research working with all key stakeholders in the company and wider teams.
Carry out and present findings of profit testing quantification for different product designs, both new and existing product alternatives.
Review and maintain product literature, marketing material and contribute to product literature and marketing material development working with other team members.
Hold responsibility for product-related systems’ development and maintenance,
Ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards, with special consideration to policyholders’ reasonable expectations.
Offer support with product-related strategy planning with a view to maintaining competitive edge while protecting margin pricing.
Develop profit-testing models or use existing models for actuarial input to the development of new and existing products.
Perform ongoing review of pricing framework and documentation on a rolling basis.
Analyse past experience and trends to provide sound justification for pricing assumptions.
Lead operational and pricing colleagues with pricing reviews.
Report on results and make recommendations as required.
Work towards achieving pricing authority levels across all markets to assist the team with respect to technical guidance and quote authorisation.
Produce actuarial reports and reviews in line with client requirements and communicate the results via presentation where needed by the company.
Provide product technical support to colleagues for existing and new business.
Identify key risks via analyses of financial results, profitability and claims information.
Assist in the oversight of reinsurance arrangements and identification of risk gaps and provision of information to enable reinsurance manager make an opinion of insurance and reinsurance activity.
Communicate, liaise and lead or assist with implementation of improvements and efficiencies between internal and external departments within the company.
Assist with carrying out additional duties of a comparable nature as directed by the Head of Pricing.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar or related business sector and will hold or be working towards an actuarial qualification with experience in life insurance reporting or product development work. Applicants will have a successful track record in product and pricing work, demonstrable project management skills and understand the operational requirements to deliver business focused solutions. The successful candidate will need to be strategic, with knowledge of the typical employee benefit products and markets, have an awareness of business priorities and strategic plans and the ability to support the teams in Ireland and Guernsey with a strategic understanding of the business. They will have strong analytical skills, the ability to influence and negotiate and excellent systems and computer skills, including Excel and Prophet. The role will suit an organised individual with proven problem solving abilities and the ability to communicate to people at all levels.
